GOe FUTURE is a startup factory with an exclusive focus on knowledge-based startups in the life sciences. Together with experienced partners, the Startup Factory supports the targeted expansion of the Lower Saxony ecosystem in order to further accelerate the transfer of scientific knowledge into practical, marketable solutions. Through tailor-made programs, access to capital, experts and a strong network, GOe FUTURE creates excellent framework conditions for life science spin-offs.

Vision

GOe FUTURE is developing into a leading start-up ecosystem for life sciences. The aim is to meet the special challenges for start-ups in the life sciences sector with tailor-made offers. The result is a dynamic network that addresses medical, ecological and social challenges and positions the Göttingen-Hannover-Braunschweig region as one of the leading life sciences locations in Europe. The motto is: GOe FUTURE - Generating a Silicon Valley for Life Science in Lower Saxony.

Bridge between science and business

GOe FUTURE creates an active interface between academic research and entrepreneurial implementation. The development of medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological innovations in particular is associated with special challenges. Long development cycles, complex regulatory requirements and high capital requirements pose considerable hurdles for founders in these areas. The Startup Factory provides support with a broad network of universities, research institutions, industry partners and political players. And takes the life science startup ecosystem to a new level with tailor-made infrastructure and services.

Mission and goals

The aim is to significantly increase the number and long-term resilience of life science start-ups in the Göttingen-Hannover-Braunschweig region and thus make a sustainable contribution to developing more effective therapies, improving global medical care and increasing food security, for example.

People behind GOe FUTURE

Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Zeisberg

Managing Director

As an experienced scientist and entrepreneur, she has been shaping the life science start-up ecosystem in Lower Saxony for a long time. She is Professor and Dean of Transfer at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and coordinates the strategic development of the GOe FUTURE Startup Factory. Prof. Zeisberg has many years of expertise in technology transfer and biotechnology start-ups and promotes networking between science, business and founders in the region. Under her leadership, GOe FUTURE is helping to position Lower Saxony as a leading innovation location for life science start-ups both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Petra Runge-Wollmann

Chief of Staff

Among other things, she is part of the leadership team that drives the conceptual development and implementation of the Startup Factory. In this role, she supports the strategic coordination, internal organization and cross-departmental collaboration within the GOe FUTURE ecosystem. With a PhD in biology, she brings experience in life science ecosystem building, science and project management to set strategic priorities and effectively design operational processes. Dr. Runge-Wollmann's central task is to manage the Startup Factory in such a way that the goals of the startup support program are achieved efficiently.
