We are developing a Silicon Valley for life science in the Göttingen/Hanover/Braunschweig research triangle.
We are developing the GOe FUTURE lighthouse from the Lower Saxony life science ecosystem with academic institutions in Göttingen/Hanover/Braunschweig. We are increasing the quality and number of science-based spin-offs in the field of red and green life sciences - for the benefit and health of people worldwide.
The unique basis for this is the exceptionally high innovation, transfer and talent potential in our universities and non-university research institutions in the region as well as the support from industry, local authorities and the state of Lower Saxony.
The Göttingen/Hanover/Braunschweig research triangle has a high density of outstanding life science institutions, which results in an exceptionally high innovation and transfer potential. The GOe FUTURE lighthouse represents a logical and consistent further development of our efforts in recent years.
Our aim is to use our excellent research facilities and location conditions to realize the GOe FUTURE lighthouse from within the University Medical Center Göttingen .
To ensure efficient implementation, we are using the already existing, economically independent Life Science Valley GmbH, which, in coordination with all participating institutions, is implementing an effective and sustainable governance structure for the GOe FUTURE lighthouse.
With GOe FUTURE, we are generating international appeal and a unique support offering for start-ups in the red and green life sciences.
By offering optimal support structures for start-up projects and spin-offs, the number and quality of start-ups in the field of life sciences is to be greatly increased. Building on these unique conditions, the aim is to sustainably strengthen Germany as a business location and independence in the field of life sciences and to develop our start-up ecosystem into an international role model. The internationally visible GOe FUTURE lighthouse created in this way offers the best conditions for attracting both national and international start-up teams. The start-ups incubated in the GOe FUTURE lighthouse promote the well-being of humanity through their high degree of innovation, improve therapies and medical care worldwide (red life sciences) and create solutions for global challenges such as food security, environmental degradation and climate change (green life sciences).
