Impossible Founders
The Impossible Founders (iF) are Hamburg's answer to the most pressing challenge of our time: the sustainable transformation of the economy and society through science-based innovation.
Through the alliance of the University of Hamburg, TU Hamburg and DESY with anchor partners from industry, as well as the Michael Otto Foundation and the Joachim Herz Foundation, the iF combine research excellence with entrepreneurial implementation power and long-term commitment - and develop Hamburg into one of the leading European locations for deep-tech start-ups with impact.
The Hamburg metropolitan region is vibrant. It combines an excellent scientific landscape, internationally visible infrastructures, a dynamic business location with predestined fields of application and a growing network of founders, investors and social players. On this basis, the iF is starting with concrete partnerships, secure basic funding and a clear vision.
iF's mission: We create a scalable, highly networked start-up ecosystem that transforms scientific ideas into sustainable business models. Across all phases - from awareness to acceleration - we develop targeted programs with an impact-oriented focus.
Public partners such as the economic and science authorities and the Chamber of Commerce fully support the project.
The iF aims to develop a highly networked and international start-up ecosystem that turns talent and technology into high-growth start-ups. By 2035, over 170 scaling deep-tech start-ups, 600 innovation projects with companies and 15,000 entrepreneurially qualified talents will be created.
